February 5, 2004 - Last night my car broke down on Route 128. It was rush hour and dark outside. I was upset and scared. George Taylor reassured me. He was not only respectful but also treated me like I could have been his own relative. Although I have seen the 'CVS Samaritan Vans on the road, I never really though much about them. All that has changed for me and I will always remember how grateful I was to see George last night.

December 30, 2004 - I had the pleasure of encountering your Samaritan Nate Gage. I was six months preganant. When I called my husband from the car I was panicking. I was saying ove and over to him "Oh where is the Good Samaritan guy" because I see them every single day on my way to and from work and they are usually off to the side helping motorists. When he appeared I was elated. It was like an angel appeared. That is truly how I felt. I was still on the phone with my husband when the Samaritan knocked on my window. When I told my husband that CVS was here, he couldn't believe it. he fixed my problem and I was on my way without much delay. I hope that you continue to offer this service to our community and others. It is really like having a guardian angel out there in a not-so safe world. Thank you.

January 7, 2004 - I am an On-Star subscriber and immediately notified On-Star of roadside assistance needed. One of your vans pulled behind me. Howard calmed my nerves with his friendly smile and took control of the situation. I tried to pay him for his services but he refused. Howard said that the services were free of charge courtesy of CVS pharmacy and if that he wouldn't be a "Good Samaritan" if he accepted anything for doing a good deed. I was so impressed. I have seen your vans but never realized their true benefit until now. If there was ever any doubt about the value of this service let me be the first to tell you how thankful I am. Mr. Harmon took a very bad day and made it much brighter.

January 21, 2004 - I recently had the fortunate opportunity of meeting Tony Pisano Route 502. It was zero degree weather here in Chicago. I was Stranded and Mr. Pisano unexpectedly arrived to save the day. I would like to complement CVS on the CVS Samaritan program. I have seen your vans on the road and thought it was some marketing gimmick. I now realize having met and been involved on the receiving end what it is really designed to be. Your program made me remember that good exists in corporate America and at CVS. I could not stop talking to my clients about my experience and the nature of your program. CVS will be my pharmacy of the future. Any firm that takes the responsibility that your have, in an unassuming way as you had, with top notch people like Tony Pisano, deserves my praise and support. Best wishes and thank you.

January 21, 2004 - At 4:45 PM in rush hour I broke down on I-696 in Michigan. The weather was terrible, very cold, very snowy. I called 911 and they put me in touch with Michigan State Polcie who told me they would send a courtesy truck. I had no idea I was going to get the courtesy I did and was acatually overwhelmed by what happened. Don Swanson Route 402 showed up in less than 15 minutes and did everything for me. I couldn't beleive it. I am retired and suffer from anxiety attacks. He was so kind, calming, efficient, and helpful. I didn't even have any trauma!. I really didn't think things like this happened. I am grateful to Don and CVS more than words can say. When something like this happens to you away from home where you don't know anyone it is truly miraculous. Thanks again CVS for helping me.

January 5, 2004 - I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the services received from Mr. Hayward Johnson route 62. It was New Years Eve around 6PM when the instrument panel started acting weird. My friend an I were on the Capital Beltway where many Jersey barriers encompassed the lanes. In no time at all, Mr. Johnson pulled up with his emergency van illuminated with many yellow lights which made us feel extremely comfortable. I explained the problem and he said "No problem at all." His entire attitude was very warming and welcoming and it gave me the same feeling I might have had if my father had helped me. I offered him a twenty dollar tip but he refused. After several more "please take this" and "are you sure" comments I was dumbfounded. Here is a guy who could have accepted a tip that he very much deserved and that no one would have known and no matter how persistent I was he wouldn't take it under any circumstances. He said "I appreciate the thought but that's not what were her for". We are here to help folks out". Well, my friend and I were certainly WOWED!. Thank you CVS for creating this program and maintaining it. It is refreshing to know that we really do have wonderful Samaritans on the road!.
